The AFL-CIO has created a new position for a Safety and Health Fellow in the Safety and health Department. This one year position is designed to help identify new people interested in safety and health work in the labor movement and to give them an opportunity to learn about, be exposed to and engaged in this work. It is part of an effort to identify/recruit a new generation of S&H activists to this work. The position is located at the AFL-CIO headquarters in Washington, DC. This is similar to the AFL-CIO S&H intern position that first got me involved with union S&H work in the 1970’s.
