Instructors Description: The Labor Studies & Employment Relations Department of the School of Management and Labor Relations, Rutgers University, seeks 1-2 non-tenure track faculty members to provide teaching and support for its programs. Working under the direction of the Department Chair, the main responsibilities of the position are to teach the equivalent of 6-7 courses per year in our undergraduate and graduate programs. Instructors are also expected to assist with student counseling and career advisement, participate in placement and recruitment activities, participate in outreach activities and carry out other service duties as assigned. The subject matter expertise of the positions within in the broad interdisciplinary field of labor and employment relations is open but we have a preference for an individual who could teach in multiple areas. Expertise in negotiations, leadership, macro organizational behavior, labor history, political economy, labor economics, and/or contemporary labor relations would be useful. Experience teaching online is a positive, as is willingness to teach off-campus and/or in our non-credit adult education programs. These positions come with annual contracts with possible renewal with successful performance and are contingent on budgetary support. Requirements: 1. Graduate degree required. PhD in a field related to Labor and Employment Relations (sociology, law, economics, history, psychology, women’s studies, business and other related fields), or an EdD, Law or other terminal degree preferred. 2. Evidence of successful teaching excellence with a student body similar to the one here at Rutgers.
