The Murphy Institute is currently seeking to fill the crucial positions of Associate Director for Worker Education and Communications Marketing Manager. The Associate Director for Worker Education will act as a deputy to the Institute’s Director and play a senior leadership role in developing and managing all credit and degree programs including: undergraduate and graduate degree programs in Labor Studies and Urban Studies; workforce education initiatives; special certificate programs such as Labor Relations, and Public Policy and Administration; and other special programs such as Union Semester and Urban Leadership. Specifically, s/he will supervise a team of 20; oversee student life at the Institute including recruitment, enrollment, and academic progress; and address academic issues and concerns raised by students and/or faculty. S/he will manage communications with Institute faculty and with administrative and academic departments at other CUNY units regarding curriculum, new program development, and appointment of adjunct faculty. S/he will be a resource regarding program policies and procedures, make recommendations to improve department policies and procedures, and assist the Director with outcome assessment and strategic planning.
